It’s Monday – here are some books you might like to read

L1574768ast week we explored how we choose to react and deal with behaviors we find annoying.  We read Blabber Mouse and Blabber Report by True Kelly.  Blabber does just that, blabs … all the time!  It’s a problem.  Talk to your child to find out what his class did to help him take a different perspective and learn to change his behavior.  There was no yelling or directing, no telling or turning away.  When we stopped to think about it we realized it was a pretty amazing reaction.  We realize if we stay calm, we’ll always have a choice.

This week we will continue this work, looking for more positive ways for dealing with interruptions, annoyances and thoughtlessness.  We hope we can be more aware of our inner voice and better able to take a different persecutive.  We’re going to be looking for different ways to understand and different ways to react.  The books below might help you explore these ideas at home. We’ll try to “stay on the sunny side” this week.
